The two-match Test series against Ireland began with a loss of the toss. Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie won the toss and elected to bat first in the first match of the series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium this morning.
Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto said that he would have chosen to bat if he had won the toss. As a result, the hosts will have to face the batting challenge in the fourth innings of this Test.
Bangladesh have made two changes from the playing XI for the last Test against Sri Lanka. Batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy has returned to the playing XI. Left-arm spinner Hasan Murad is also making his debut in the white jersey. He is the 108th Test cricketer for Bangladesh. Murad holds the record of taking 165 wickets in 39 matches in first-class cricket.
