After 36 years, New Zealand won the Test on Indian soil. Chasing an easy target of 107 runs, the Kiwis won by 8 wickets in the Bengaluru Test. Earlier in 1988, New Zealand beat India by 136 runs at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. In all, the Kiwis won the third Test after playing 8 Test series against the Indians.
New Zealand last played a two-match Test series against India in 2021. That series was also held on Indian soil. However, New Zealand lost the series by 1-0.
India were bowled out for 46 runs in the first innings at the MA Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore. In reply, New Zealand put up a huge collection of 402 runs on Rachin Rabindra's century. The Kiwis got a lead of 356 runs in the first innings.
In the second innings, India scored 462 runs on Sarfaraz Khan's brilliant innings of 150 runs. This great innings by the right-handed batsman was of no use to the Indians. Despite scoring 462 runs, Rohit Sharma's team did not get the lead to fight against New Zealand. They managed to target only 107 runs to the Kiwis.
