Bangladesh won the women's SAFF championship by defeating Nepal. Rituparna Chakma scored the winning goal in the final. Apart from this, this winger of Bangladesh won the best player award for his outstanding performance in the whole tournament. On the other hand, Rupana Chakma won the best goalkeeper award.
On Wednesday (October 30) at the Dasaratha Rangshala Stadium in Kathmandu, the two teams went into the break goalless after wasting several chances. Back from the break, Bangladesh went ahead with Monika's goal. Amisha Karki quickly equalized the hosts after that. However, Rituparna Chakma's extraordinary goal led the red-green representatives. In the end, Bangladesh won 2-1.
Reacting immediately after receiving the best player award, Rituparna said, 'I feel very good. I got this award for the first time. My dream has come true. My family has supported me a lot. I thank the people of Bangladesh. With their support and prayers, we became clear champions for the second time.'In 2022, Bangladesh girls won the title for the first time by defeating Nepal at the same venue in the last edition of SAFF. The current captain Sabina Khatun won the best player award.
