Bangladesh was in the driver's seat for most of the Galle Test. In the first innings, the Tigers built a big total with the great batting of Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim. However, Sri Lanka responded well to Galle's batting heaven. Even then, the visitors got a small lead of 10 runs. With that, Bangladesh got the courage to declare the innings in the second innings with the great batting of Shanto. There were still 37 overs left in the day's play. However, the Tigers could not take more than 4 wickets from the Sri Lankans during this time. As a result, Bangladesh entered the new cycle of the ICC Test Championship with a draw.
