India was supposed to come to Bangladesh in August to play an ODI and T20 series. The BCB had also announced the schedule with the approval of the BCCI. The reality is that the series is not happening on the scheduled date.
India has requested that the bilateral series be postponed. Two alternative dates are being discussed for the series - November or sometime next year.
Given the current situation in Bangladesh, the possibility of the Indian cricket team touring Bangladesh this year is unlikely. This was discussed in yesterday's meeting of the BCB board of directors. The cricket management department has been tasked with talking to the Indian Cricket Board to fix a new schedule.
There were three ODIs and three T20 matches in Dhaka and Chittagong from August 18 to 31. There are rumors that the August tour was canceled due to insecurity. However, there has been no official statement from the BCB in this regard.
After the board meeting, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul said, "We have had positive discussions with the BCCI. They are waiting for clearance from the government regarding the series."
He said, "It's not like we will host a series against India in August or September. Rather, we have discussed how we can host the series. If we can't host the series now, we will do it at some other time."
