It has been decided to limit the number of tourists in St. Martin, said Apoorba Jahangir, Deputy Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser. He said that tourists cannot stay there overnight in November.
He said this in a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium in the capital on Tuesday (October 22) evening.
He said, a decision has been taken to limit the movement of tourists to St. Martin. Tourists can visit there in November but cannot stay overnight. In December and January, not more than 2,000 tourists can go in a day. And in the month of February, tourists will be completely stopped. Then there will be cleaning work.
He said, these steps have been taken from the thought of making Saint Martin environmentally friendly. Carrying single plastics to Saint Martin will be permanently discontinued.
