The interim government will outline a new salary structure, said Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed. They will provide a rough framework for a new salary structure for government officials and employees, and the next government will take the matter seriously.
He said this while answering questions from journalists after a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement and the Advisory Council Committee on Economic Affairs at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
Will you be able to give the pay scale? In response to a question from journalists, the Finance Advisor said, 'The work of the Pay Commission is very complicated. They will work completely independently. But we have no role there. In the Pay Commission, there is a civil pay commission, there is a separate one for the army. Now after receiving those three reports, it will need to be consistent again. It will take some time to give one in a uniform manner. That is why I said that whether we will be able to do it in our time, it is a bit uncertain. Because after looking at the three reports, it will have to be reconciled again. After reconciling, there are several administrative processes. There is a secretarial committee, they will look into it. Then there is MOFA, they will look into it.'
He said, "That's why I said that we will go with a complete setup, a rough framework after receiving the report. Because if we can reconcile it within that time, we will. The biggest thing here is financial resources."
If you don't know whether the political government will actually fall, there has been dissatisfaction among government employees. When asked such a question by journalists, the financial advisor said, 'It is unexpected that there is anger over this. This is my initiative, we took the initiative. They have been able to wait for 8 years, now we are making an effort in our 12 months, we will do it. We will have to be a little patient.'
He said, "Nothing has happened for 7-8 years, now suddenly we ourselves took the initiative and then there is anger, but we should rather thank them, that we are trying to provide a framework and if the report comes, I don't think the next government will take it very seriously."
Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed also said, there are three special types of pay scales, they will reconcile them. So let them be patient. There are financial resources, now if they think that the pay scale that is there will remain if we tell them, then there is no reason to worry. There is a budget issue here. There are other sectors, in our budget. Apart from pay scales, we have other development expenses in the health sector, education sector, I have to look at them.
