The country's capital market is returning to good times again. Along with the increase in daily transactions in the country's main capital markets, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the market's capital is also increasing. Last week, the capital in both markets increased by 37,737.8 million taka. As a result, those concerned believe that the market is returning to good times, overcoming the distrust that investors had towards the capital market in the past few days.

According to market insiders, there was a general anger among investors against the head of the capital market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). Investors have been protesting for a long time against some of his decisions. But after the post-budget period, investors started to regain confidence in the head as some positive benefits came to the capital market. Apart from this, due to some recent decisions taken by the BSEC chairman, those investors started to include him in the good list again. Apart from this, a few days ago, investors in the capital market of Bangladesh were panicked due to the Iran-Israel war. The situation in the country's capital market collapsed due to the reciprocal attacks of the two countries. The market is now walking on a positive path after overcoming these obstacles. However, it remains to be seen how long it can be maintained.

According to the weekly market review of the DSE and CSE on Saturday, the country's main capital markets, DSE and CSE, ended trading last week (Sunday to Thursday) with an increase in indices. During this time, the market capitalization of the two institutions increased by 37,737.8 million taka.

According to the data, the main index of DSE, DSEX, rose by 259.56 points or 5.6 percent to 5,392 points in the past week. Among other indices, the DSE-30 Index rose by 153.11 points or 7.91 percent to 2,089 points, the DSE Shariah Index rose by 52.89 points or 4.72 percent to 1,172 points, and the DSMEX Index (SME Index) fell by 16.33 points or 1.61 percent to 996 points.

On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capital of the DSE stood at 7 lakh 8 thousand 71 crore taka. And on the last working day of the week before the outgoing week, the market capital of the DSE was 6 lakh 87 thousand 498 crore 29 lakh taka. That is, the market capital increased by 20 thousand 508 crore 72 lakh taka in the span of a week.

In the outgoing week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange traded Tk 4,297.23 crore. And in the week before the outgoing week, the transaction was Tk 3,408.12 crore. That is, the transaction on the DSE increased by Tk 8,891 crore in the week.

A total of 394 companies' shares and units were traded on the DSE in the past week. Of the companies, 215 increased their prices, 144 decreased their prices, and 35 remained unchanged. However, 19 were not traded.

In other capital markets, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw its overall index CASPI rise by 684.22 points or 4.77 percent to 15,013 points in the past week. Among other CSE indices, the CSE-30 index rose by 6.97 percent to 13,251 points, the CSCX index rose by 6.97 percent to 9,194 points, the CSI index rose by 3.85 percent to 945 points, and the SESMEX fell by 3.59 percent to 1,962 points.

On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capital stood at 7 lakh 21 thousand 737 crore 51 lakh taka. And on the last working day of the week before the outgoing week, the market capital of CSE was 7 lakh 5 thousand 172 crore 45 lakh taka. That is, the market capital increased by 16 thousand 565 crore 6 lakh taka in the span of a week.

In the outgoing week, the Chittagong Stock Exchange traded Tk 916.8 million. And in the week before the outgoing week, the transaction was Tk 306.3 million. That is, the transaction on the CSE increased by Tk 615.5 million in the week.

A total of 336 companies traded shares and units on the CSE in the past week. The prices of 187 companies increased, the prices of 122 companies decreased, and the prices of 27 shares and units remained unchanged.
