The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the low pressure created in the Andaman Sea will turn into a cyclone on October 23. After intensifying into a cyclonic storm, it may reach the coast of Odisha, West Bengal, India in the Bay of Bengal on October 24 morning.
IMD has informed this information in a warning message today. The agency said the low pressure will turn into low pressure on the morning of October 22. It will then become a cyclonic storm over the east-central Bay of Bengal on October 24. The cyclone will reach the Odisha-West Bengal coast in the northeast Bay of Bengal that morning.
The agency said in its warning on Saturday that the Andaman Sea will remain rough and stormy until October 21. At that time, the wind speed can be 35 to 40 per hour and the wind speed can be up to 55 km. On the other hand, the Bay of Bengal may experience rough and stormy weather from 22nd to 25th October. At that time the wind speed can be 45 to 55 km. After that, North Bay of Bengal may become very rough during October 24-25.
The India Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go fishing in Andaman Sea till October 21, Central Bay of Bengal from October 22 to 24 and North Bay of Bengal from October 24 to 25. Besides, it has been asked to take precautions in ships, ports, seas and coasts.
