Today, the three most polluted areas in and around Dhaka are Eastern Housing-2 (283), the US Embassy area in Dhaka (252), and Kalyanpur (237).
The main component of Dhaka's air pollution is the presence of particulate matter, or PM 2.5, in the air. Today, its presence in Dhaka's air is 27 times higher than the World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
