Two soldiers were killed in India's Chhattisgarh state. The police personnel and jawans were returning from the operation to catch the Maoists. Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans died when an IED planted by them exploded on the way. Two policemen were injured. The incident took place in Kodliar village of Abujhmad region of Chhattisgarh.
A team of ITBP, BSF (Border Guard Force), District Reserve Guard went on an anti-Maoist operation in Chhattisgarh's Dhurbeda on Saturday afternoon. On the way back to Narayanpur, there was an explosion near Kodliar village. Two jawans of ITBP named Amar Panwar and K Rajesh died in it. Panwar is a resident of Satara, Maharashtra. Rajesh hails from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. Both of them are 36 years old. They are members of 53rd battalion of ITBP. The two injured policemen are residents of Narayanpur district. They have been admitted to hospital. Both are now in stable condition.
On October 4, 38 Maoists were killed in an operation by security guards in Abujhmad region. In the history of Maoist suppression operation in Chhattisgarh for the last 24 years, so many people have not been killed in one operation. Among the dead were Commander Kamlesh alias RK and spokeswoman Urmila alias Niti. This time two soldiers were killed while conducting an operation in that state.
